Lucknow Launches Organised Crime Helpline to Combat Drug and Human Trafficking

Lucknow — In a significant step to curb organised crime, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate has launched a dedicated Organised Crime Helpline, inviting citizens to share confidential information on illegal activities, particularly drug trafficking and human trafficking.

The helpline, introduced by the Crime Branch, allows residents to report sensitive information anonymously via the number 7839861034. Officials have assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential, encouraging more citizens to come forward without fear of retaliation.

This initiative aligns with the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s Zero Tolerance Policy towards crime. Authorities believe that the helpline will strengthen efforts to dismantle organised crime networks, especially those involved in narcotics distribution and human trafficking.

According to Crime Branch officials, all tips received through the helpline will undergo verification before prompt action is taken. The move is expected to enhance coordination between local intelligence and public input, enabling law enforcement agencies to act swiftly and effectively against criminal operations.

Police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their localities. To further boost public participation, authorities have also announced rewards for credible and actionable information.

Additionally, the Crime Branch has launched its official social media presence on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle @Crime_branchlko, providing another channel for citizens to connect with the police and stay updated on developments.

Officials expressed confidence that this citizen-centric initiative will play a crucial role in strengthening public safety and reducing organised crime across the city.
